Holidays in the Balearic Islands tend to centre around the beach, but there's plenty to do besides swimming and sunbathing. Boat trips, water sports, hiking, horse riding, sightseeing, golf, shopping and water parks are all available, depending on where you stay. Nightlife across the Balearics varies greatly. Ibiza is synonymous with clubbing, thanks to the world-famous venues in and around San Antonio. On Majorca, Magaluf and Palma Nova are party hotspots, with big name clubs and plenty of bars to choose from. Elsewhere on the island, the pace of life is slower and more suited to couples and families. On Formentera, nightlife is very quiet and tends to be hotel-based. Menorca has a good choice of bars and discos in its larger resorts, but these tend to be more family-orientated and don't attract crowds of revellers.
