The Big Hays Travel Thank You Round Up!

It’s been an exciting time here at Hays Travel and we can’t believe how quick the months have flown by! 7 months ago, we launched the Big Hays Travel Thank You to celebrate the hard work and dedication put in by our teams, particularly over the last few years and reward them with some extra special prizes.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and look back at our lucky winners!

July’s Winner:

Our Big Hays Travel Thank You started off with a big bang as the prize was revealed as A BRAND NEW CAR. Our 1st lucky winner was Richard from our Wombwell branch who drove home from our Head Office with his fantastic prize! 

Richard joined us 2.5 years ago after the collapse of Thomas Cook. Here what he said about his win:

“I am absolutely over the moon and in shock, I can’t believe it. I have never won anything in my life before. When I answered the phone and was told I had won the ' Big thank you' prize and it was a car I was in complete shock, I could not believe it. Winning a brand new car was a dream come true and I felt really lucky to work for a company which is showing appreciation to our staff in such a generous and fun way. Driving away in the car felt amazing and with the lovely welcome from Head office staff I feel proud to be part of the Hays family.” – Richard.

 

August’s Winner:

August’s lucky winner received a cra-sea prize and buoy it was good! With an incredible cruise of your choice worth £5,000 up for grabs, Rachel from our Recruitment Department was delighted when she found out she was this month’s winner and setting sail on an unforgettable cruise of her choice for FREE!

Since winning Rachel has booked a 10-night Caribbean cruise on board Celebrity Edge with an overnight stay in Miami with her lovely husband and are due to set sail any time now!

September’s Winner:

September marked the halfway point of our amazing give aways and so had to be extra special. This month our lucky winner got to say farewell to their rent/mortgage and utility bills for the next SIX MONTHS! But it was revealed that September’s prize was so nice, we just had to give it out twice! Queue our 2 lucky winners, Lynne a Legal Executive here at Head Office and Sarah from our Washington Branch.

“I burst into tears when my name was announced. I just couldn’t believe it; I was over the moon. It was lovely to see all my colleague’s reaction as well, they are all so happy for me.” – Lynne

“I was absolutely overwhelmed and completely speechless. Of the 40 years I have worked in travel this was the biggest prize I had ever won.” – Sarah

October's Winner:

The excitement of Summer was now over, and we got ready for Autumn fun and spooky happenings; and this month’s winner, Emily Manager of our Yate Branch, definitely had the shock of her life! Our October prize? An all-expenses paid trip to New York City for four nights, staying at the Hilton Hotel Times Square and traveling in style with Virgin Atlantic. Plus, as an extra bonus, we threw in £1000 spending money.

November's Winner 

November’s prize was all about the tech, tech, tech! And what better way to start the Christmas shopping than with a massive Apple bundle worth a whopping £3,000! That’s exactly what Joanne from our Customer Services team took home with her as November’s lucky winner!

Just in time to keep everyone entertained during those cold winter nights.  

December's Winner: 

Last but certainly not least, December brought with it our last winner of the Big Hays Travel Thank You. After 6 months of rewarding our hard-working colleagues by giving away amazing prizes, this month we decided to go back to where it all began…

That’s right, another BRAND NEW CAR giveaway! Andrea, from our Newtownabbey branch drove away from Head Office as our final BIG winner and she couldn’t have been happier.

And in the name of Christmas spirit, we couldn’t just give away one prize in December- oh no. That’s why it was decided that an extra 10 additional prizes would be given away in the Big Hays Travel Festive Thank You- see what we did there? From mini breaks to the Canary Islands and Red Letter Days out to Ticketmaster, Currys & Love2shop vouchers- people up and down the nation were announced winners in December.  

But is Andrea really our final Big Hays Travel Thank You Winner? We will have to wait and see what Hays Travel and Dame Irene Hays has in store...
