What takes place at Conference?
Each year we get together with our Independence Group Members and Homeworkers at a dedicated overseas conference, and this year they were back to back! A group of our Head Office colleagues headed to the Hard Rock Tenerife for a week of hosting two amazing conferences!
We were more grateful than ever to be able to catch up with people face to face, in the sun and at such an incredible hotel.
The aim of the conference is for our Head Office teams to share knowledge & expertise from their specialist areas and for our IG members and homeworkers to share their ideas & experience as well. And most importantly, to celebrate success!
We were also joined by over 30 of our supplier partners who shared lots of exciting updates and knowledge about their products, ready for the agents to go back and pass on to their customers.
Overall it is an opportunity for our members and homeworkers to reflect, learn and be inspired; to go back to their businesses and build upon their success!
Welcome Drinks & Catching Up
It all kicked off with a warm welcome with a goodie bag filled with Hard Rock treats, and a glass of fizz of course. The welcome drink and catch up was filled with lots of smiles and laughter whilst people caught up with those they hadn’t seen in years! In the evening, everyone headed to the rooftop where the conference kicked off with drinks at the 16th Sky Bar. The buzz amongst the attendees was fantastic to be around and there was a real feel of well over due normality amongst the group.
Business Sessions
Each conference had two days of business sessions including guest speakers, supplier workshops and head office updates.
We heard from our Head Office Senior Leadership team, who shared insight into Cruising, Marketing, Commercial performance and our very own Hays Tour Operating, as well as our business development teams.
We also heard from some of our fantastic suppliers who updated us on all their amazing products. Among these suppliers were; Palladium Group, Royal Caribbean and Jet2Holidays.
Our members and Homeworkers got to spend time finding out more about cruise lines, tour operators, airlines, attractions, and more during the supplier matchmaking sessions. The room was buzzing with energy during with quizzes, games and plenty of freebies to be had! Not forgetting there was some brilliant educational trips and prizes won throughout the conferences including a trip to Hard Rock Marbella, a week in Jamaica, 2 night cruise and more!
Children of the 80s Fancy Dress Night
Night two of each conference was a favourite amongst attendees...Fancy Dress Night! This year’s theme was ‘Children of the 80s’. Picture colourful shell suits, a sea of striking neon and someone whizzing round in roller blades!
During Fancy Dress Nights everyone enjoyed a BBQ dinner at the hotel’s Beach Club. Everyone spent the night meeting new people and catching up with people they haven't seen for a long time.
There was brilliant creativity amongst the group with some attendees pulling out all the stops. A number of 80's icons were in attendance including Del Boy, MC Hammer and Freddie Mercury. As the night continued everyone gathered in the sport bar, where everyone really got into character with their interesting dance moves to classics from the likes of ABBA, Madonna and Gloria Gaynor.
Gala Dinner Night
On the final night everyone attended the Gala Dinner where everyone dressed to impress. The night kicked off with awards and recognition to some fantastic performers. Each table got the chance mingle with new people including Head Office and suppliers, as well as colleagues. After a delicious three course meal everyone hit the dance floor and danced the night away to a live band following by a DJ.
We are so glad everyone in attendence had such a fantastic time and we already can't wait for the next conference!
