P&O Cruises For Couples

Date Posted: 04/04/2024

Whether you want to explore a bucket-list destination, enjoy an uninterrupted day at the spa with your partner, or simply relax with a good book while sunning yourself out on deck, here are our recommendations on how to make the most of your cruise…

Embark on a Longer Duration Cruise
If a laid-back vibe is what you’re after then opt for a longer itinerary. Families tend to book short breaks meaning you are almost guaranteed to sail with fewer kids on board. Term-time cruises tend to be on the quieter side too with children still in school. You may even find yourself a great bargain!

You’ll also have the chance to discover more awe-inspiring destinations, as well as enjoying your time on board to the max! Relax, unwind, and make the most of all the facilities. Liz and John from Bournemouth recently returned from a cruise to the Norwegian Fjords on P&O Cruises Aurora: “You get a more relaxed demographic on the longer cruises. It’s never too crowded and we love the atmosphere.”

Enjoy an evening out on board
Dance the night away at a bar or a club, book a cinema date or enjoy an evening of entertainment at the theatre. Julie Kidd and her husband recently discovered the joy of a child-free evening on board P&O Cruises Iona in the Norwegian fjords: “We’ve really enjoyed spending time in The Crow’s Nest – the views of the fjords from up there are fabulous. We went to Sindhu last night to celebrate our anniversary and we’ve been to the theatre, the cinema, talks and late-night shows. There just aren’t enough hours in the day to do everything.”

Pick up some hobbies

Make the most of the facilities on board throughout for cruise! Whether that be taking up a new hobby, letting your competitive side shine through in a game of tennis, honing in on your painting skills with an art class or trying out a new fitness dance class, the possibilities are endless!

Peter and Julie Barrett had this to say about their recent Caribbean holiday on P&O Cruises Arvia: “We’ve been walking around the deck and have done Fitsteps this morning, which put us through our paces. It’s a free dance exercise class for all ages and all abilities. I’ve been to spin classes at the gym, and we’ve loved swimming too. We’re just able to do our own thing.”

Pick a ship exclusively for adults
P&O offer exclusively adult only cruises on board Arcadia and Aurora. For Gill and Graham Hicks, a cruise to the picture-perfect Norwegian fjords is the perfect opportunity for Graham to indulge his passion for photography. “We’re going to Norway for 12 nights to try to get some good photographs; I want to get a nice big print for our lounge. Hopefully we’ll eat well and enjoy some nice entertainment too. With Aurora being an adults-only ship it is a lot quieter and we like that she’s more traditional too. You feel like you’re on a classic cruise ship.”
