Canadian Affair Educational Trip

Date Posted: 23/09/2022

Weymouth Branch Manager Hayley has just returned from Canada, where she took part in an immersive familiarisation trip to get to know the stunning area of Quebec!

She travelled with our preferred Tour Operator Canadian Affair, who specialise in the area and offer tailor made itineraries across Canada and the USA! Here’s what Hayley had to say about her first 24 hours in Quebec

“We flew DIRECT from Gatwick to Québec City with AIR TRANSAT - The flight took just 6 hours 30 mins!! Making it a perfect destination for a long weekend city break- as well as longer itineraries.

Québec City is stunning- I was amazed by just how French it felt, the cobbled streets and stunning pavement cafes creating a perfect spot for taking in the culture! We enjoyed a city walking tour where we learnt all about the history.

Québec City sits on the Saint Lawrence River in Canada's mostly French-speaking Québec province. Dating to 1608, it has a fortified colonial core, Vieux-Québec and Place Royale, with stone buildings and narrow streets. This area is the site of the towering Château Frontenac Hotel where we were treated to an amazing Dinner!

In the afternoon on day one, we visited the Stunning Manoir Montmorency - INCREDIBLE waterfalls with fantastic views”

Over the next few days Hayley got to explore even more of Québec, starting with Jaques Cartier Nation Park; “The park is just a short drive North from Québec City and makes the perfect place to head to for glorious views, getting back to nature and even trying something new! The rafting was an amazing experience and we saw lots of nature along the way- lots of beavers!! The views were BREATHTAKING!

We then headed to Wendake to find out the history of the Wendat people and explore the museum and authentic long house.. we enjoyed listening to stories of the First Nation that settled in Canada! I highly recommend a visit here- just a short hop from the city, but really takes you back to the roots of the area and gave me a fantastic understanding of the history of this part of Canada!

We also visited a fantastic attraction called Onhwa Lumina, which is an incredible light show in the Forrest, which re tells the tale of the First Nation in moving pictures and images in the trees at night- a real atmospheric adventure!!”

It sounds like Hayley had the most amaxing time in Québec and just a 6 hour 30 minute direct fligh from Gatwick what's not to love?
