See a Famous Landmark:

Visiting a famous landmark is probably a feature on most peoples Bucket Lists, so why not share that adventure with your cuddly travel companion. Many natural wonders or must-see attractions are outside and therefore your pooches are more than welcome to tag along and get some great photos nearby. From the royal gates of Buckingham Palace and the historic Hadrian’s Wall to the striking Eiffel Tower in Paris and Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco; there are plenty of amazing destinations that you can experience with your dog!

Climb a Mountain:

The great outdoors is a playground for all dogs and while they might not be focused on reaching the top and earning the pride of conquering a mountain like us humans; they certainly will love the journey- even the little legged dogs out there. With Mount Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland you’re perfect hike with your hound may not be that far away.

But if you are looking for somewhere a little further afield why not explore the crystal waters and serene wildflower meadows of Lake Bled in Slovenia. There’s even a dog-friendly ‘glamping’ site nearby so you can appreciate the snow-capped mountains that encase this picturesque valley.

Visit a Fellow Pooch:

No matter what activities you and your furry friend embark on, one thing is for sure, you are bound to make a lot of friends along the way. But why not take your dog to see some of its famous peers and learn a little history and folklore along the way. Up and down the UK and all over the world there are monuments dedicated to different heroic canines and their amazing stories.

Take a trip to Scotland to see ‘Greyfriars Bobby’; visit the Siberian husky ‘Balto’ in Central Park New York or journey to japan to see the star-studded ‘Hachiko.’ It will the paw-fect Bucket List adventure for your own little hero.

Play at the Beach:

A visit to the beach is a great easy add on to your Bucket List. With new sounds, smells and of course tasty seaside snacks- no body appreciates the beach as much as our four-legged family members. Let your dog paddle to their hearts content and if you find they are not a lover of the water, they can always plod in the shallows or spend some time playing in the sand chasing toys.

No matter where you are in the UK there will be beach nevermore than a quick drive away and we are sure your canine companion will love every moment. That being said, if you are looking for that extra special beach for your dog to let down their ears and feel the wind in their fur; here are a few to take a look at- home and away!

From Marloes Sands in Pembrokeshire and Embleton Bay in Northumberland, to Rossglass in Northern Ireland and Rhossili Bay in Swansea- you’ll be amazed by the amount of dog friendly beaches there are scattered on the UK coasts. And if you find yourself over the other side of the pond looking for a sandy paradise, plan a trip to Montrose Dog Beach in Lake Michigan. Open from dawn until dusk this beach is a haven for dogs- with a doggie food truck full of cookies and treats and even a dog washing service so you can clean off before leaving.

With so many dog lovers around the globe, it is no surprise that dog friendly hotels have begun to pop up in destinations far and wide; after all why shouldn’t every member of your family be treated to a family holiday.
